The sun streaming in from the gap in the curtains is a stark contrast to the darkened room. This space is dark and cozy and private, much like the man anchoring me to him. I didnât peg him for a cuddler but he hasnât let me go all night.
Not that I mind.
But it makes me wonder when the last time was this man let himself truly rest. Then again, I canât remember the last time I did either. Emerson would probably say I never gave anyone the chance to get close enough but I donât think thatâs it.
Giving myself over to Hank was the ultimate high. He didnât demand it in the traditional sense, and when I finally trusted him with my body, the pleasure had been explosive.
Heâd shown his gratitude over and over again. Every touch and kiss was filled with so much longing, like he wasnât sure if he could keep me and he wanted to remember this moment forever. The feeling was mutual.
This trip was supposed to be temporary, but aside from my cousin, there isnât much for me back in Chicago. My father would only have to pick up the phone occasionally instead of carve out time for an entire mealâheâd probably be thrilled.
My heart pangs in my chest. Pushing the hurt away, I roll in Hankâs arms to face him. His brown hair is fanned out across the pillow and even though heâs awake, his eyes remain closed.
Strong hands tighten around me before Iâm pulled on top of him. Hard muscle meets my firm, but soft curves and I love the contrast. Quite frankly, thereâs not a whole lot I donât like about Hank Thayer.
âYouâre up too early,â he mumbles and I take advantage of his sleepiness and trail soft kisses across his jaw. Heâs pliable like this and moves to accommodate me.
âSomething was poking me.â
His smirk is lazy and proud and I decide that this is my favorite look on him. Heâs so relaxed, almost playful. Itâs delightful and sexy and I canât help it when my hips rock against that something heâs so fond of.
âIt likes you.â
âThatâs convenient,â I say as I lift my hips enough to nudge him into me.
He groans and the slide down his length is deliciously torturous.
The pace is unhurried and exploratory and it feels a lot like making loveâ not that I have a lot of experience with that sentiment but still.
I donât want this to end, and not just the orgasms of which he gives me another one after carrying me into the shower. By the time we emerge from the bathroom, Iâm practically glowing.
âYouâre smilinâ an awful lot,â Hank teases, and I ramp up the wattage.
âOrgasms will do that to you.â
He rolls his lips inward but he canât hide the glee dancing in his eyes. The normally dark midnight-blue shines bright in the morning sun. âYou want coffee?â
âPlease.â
He eyes the T-shirt I stole from his closet and knotted on the side and the pair of boxer briefs I have rolled up to a fairly indecent level.
